Art:1 New Museum

Art:1 New Museum is privately owned museum and was established in 2011 by Mon Decor Gallery, founded by Martha Gunawan back in 1983 as interior decorating business that was boldly developed into the first professional art gallery in Jakarta. Its core activities is to bring awareness on Indonesian art and its history, designing art exhibitions, and to become a venue for collectors and artists by displaying only curated, high quality fine art daily.

Expanding over 4,000 sqm Museum space, Art:1 New Museum and its expanding display of over 2,000 art collection, won a list of accolades including 2007 Yogyakarta Biennale Lifetime Achievement Award, 2010 AMICA Favourite Gallery of the Year Award, and 2012 Best Facility Museum by Government of Municipality of Jakarta.

The Lobby

Art:1 spaces are equipped with a generous amount of natural light, fully air conditioned rooms with humidity and temperature control, double insulated walls, 24 hrs CCTV surveillance, two guests lifts, one oversized lift especially designed for artwork and its loading dock, pop up bar and restroom on each floors.

The Lobby features a outdoor foyer leading to a main reception area, a display of art books and exhibition catalogues, a pop-up cafe and a meeting point. The lobby is ideal for event up to 150 pax indoors in one time and can cater up to 40 medium sized artwork*.

The Mixed Media Space

The second floor offers more flexibility for mixed media use and features two multi media rooms (or one multimedia room and a storage), a VIP lounge, and two separate viewing galleries for 40 and 20 people in one time. The space is dedicated for mixed media work, photography, video art, light installation, or art work that requires dramatic lighting.

The space can cater up to 40 artworks.

The Open Space

The third floor provides an open space for up to 20 large sized artworks, and may double function as auditorium to fit up to 70 people.

The space can be divided into smaller spaces by inserting additional wall paneling, or simply benefit from the open space with a singular drop ceiling large size installation up to 5m in length.

The space can also be used as workshop/ seminar, mini concert and is great for open-layout exhibit that requires great length or non-obstructive display.
